On March 15, our hospital and Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University jointly launched an online live broadcast of multiple endoscopic surgeries, sharing images of the two surgeries in real time, showing endoscopic trans-gastric gallbladder-preserving cholecystolithotomy (ETGC), endoscopic transcecal appendectomy (ETA), peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM), and providing practical explanations of endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). The number of online participants reached 12,000.

During the live broadcast, Professor Zhou Pinghong, the director of the Endoscopy Center of Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University, performed an endoscopic trans-gastric gallbladder-preserving cholecystolithotomy. During the surgery, Professor Zhou Pinghong explained the key and difficult points of the surgery as well as the operating techniques, and shared the valuable practical experience with online colleagues. The surgery was smooth and took a short time, and there was no bleeding in both wounds.

Professor Jiang Junmei of the Department of Gastroenterology in our hospital gave a live broadcast of the peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) and explained the entire surgery online in real time. In particular, she introduced the corresponding methods on how to straighten the tunnel, which achieved good teaching results.

The event also invited endoscopy teams from various hospitals, including Director Ning Qiang of Wafangdian No. 3 Hospital, Director Zhang Yang of Zhengzhou Central Hospital, Director Zhuang Kun of Xi'an Central Hospital, Director Zhang Gang of Xinyang People's Hospital, and Director Li Ke of Lingbao First People's Hospital to communicate online, enabling vertical linkage of endoscopic diagnosis and treatment.
